This postcard shows the "Peak of the Furnace" in Reunion island (French Territory) in Indian Ocean, not far from Mauritius. Mauritians call her "sister island".
It is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The recent eruption started the 15th December 2008 and ended the 4thFebruary 2009.
